At 9:15 p.m. tonight, first responders were dispatched to an accident scene on Hwy. 19 North, south of Big Spring, between Route Y and Bear Creek. Motorists found a man walking on Hwy. 19 who had been driving the vehicle in the one-vehicle accident.
An elderly visually impaired man called me this week to say he had an answering machine message advising him a salesperson would come to see him the next day unless he called to cancel. The man called to cancel because he didn’t even know what the service was and was informed that he needed to call another number to cancel the visit and that a charge would apply. I haven’t heard of this scam before.
