Noedel-PublisherMontgomeryAndMe has learned that local volunteer firefighter Lucas Bryson was the first to spot a funnel cloud earlier this afternoon south of Wellsville. He called 9-1-1 to alert authorities about the funnel cloud, and the county sirens were immediately sounded. The funnel cloud did not touch down, but he did take a family in need of immediate shelter to Grace Lutheran Church where they are currently located while the storms pass through the area. 2:00 PM: Weather spotters have been activated for Montgomery County.
Over the last two weeks deputies have solved 11 burglaries resulting in 5 arrests with 2 pending plus 2 juveniles being referred to the Juvenile Office. The first burglary outside of Wellsville resulted in the arrest of a man and woman; both are in the county jail. The man is being held on a $75,000 bond and the female on a $50,000 bond.
