Montgomery County R-2 will begin using the SchoolReach Instant Parent Contact system on Fri., Sept. 23. This system gives school staff the ability to notify all students' households by phone within minutes of an unplanned event that will cause an early dismissal, cancellation, or late start, and can also be used for reminders or general announcements. Upon the advice of Superintendent Mike Gray, the Montgomery County R-2 Board of Education voted Thursday night to hold school lunch prices at 2010-11 school year prices. School lunch prices this coming season will not go up. The Board vote was unanimous, 6 to 0. Importance to me:

At 7:30 p.m. tonight, new Montgomery County R-2 school district superintendent Mike Gray will sit at the head table with the school board. Gray observed the June school board meeting from the audience.
The transition between outgoing Montgomery County R-2 Schools superintendent Dr. Thomas Ward to incoming superintendent Mike Gray is in full swing. The two men are scheduled to meet June 21, according to Gray.
