Missouri schools State district and building report cards now available

The State of Missouri does not rank or compare public school districts or school buildings. Instead, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education compiles an annual report card for each district and building. Parents and concerned patrons are encouraged to use this report to identify and explore important statistics about the Montgomery County R-II School District. This information can be found on the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's home page at http://dese.mo.gov/.

GED classes available in Montgomery City starting October 19

The Literacy Council of Montgomery County will be sponsoring GED preparation classes beginning Wednesday, October 19th.  GED classes have not been available in Montgomery City since January due to budget cuts at East Central College.  The Literacy Council decided in May that they would begin supporting the GED program this fall.

WARREN COUNTY HELPING MONTGOMERY COUNTY: Wright City Parks Department intends to offer day camp for Montgomery County R-2 students on Mondays this coming school year

Holly Blair, Recreation Coordinator for the Wright City Parks Department in Warren County, wants to help parents and kids in the Montgomery County R-2 School District this fall, when the district changes to a four-day school week.  At least families with at least one parent who commutes east on I-70 to a job in Warren, Lincoln, St. Charles or St. Louis County.

Missouri state museum in Jefferson City has new "After Hours" program

Now, you can discover a new side to the Missouri State Museum in 2012 with “Museum after Hours” events on the first Wednesday of each month. Your first opportunity will be Wednesday, Jan. 4 when the Missouri State Museum galleries in the State Capitol will remain open until 8 p.m. These events are free of charge to the public and sponsored by Missouri State Parks.
