EVENT CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER: Country/rock concert moved to Concert Hall at 8:30 PM

EVENT CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER:  The 6th annual Shelbyfest kick-off country/rock concert featuring "Str8 Arrow" has been moved to the Concert Hall in Hermann (above the Barrel Bar, 206 E. 1st St.).  The concert will start at 8:30 p.m.  A $5.00 donation is suggested.

Our local foods circle is growing! What is the local foods circle? The local foods circle is a supportive group of food producers and consumers interested in buying local foods. Each month our group meets at the McKittrick Farmers Mercantile for a potluck supper and an educational presentation. This month’s meeting is Wed., Dec. 14 at 6:00p. m. at McKittrick Farmers Mercantile. Everyone is welcome.

TODAY: Board game day at library for high school students

The Library Teen Board has planned a game day for Mon., Dec. 12 from 2 - 4 pm in the Montgomery City Public Library Community Room for high school students in grades 9 - 12.

Enjoy playing board games like Apples to Apples, or bring your own.  Invite your friends!

SATURDAY: Medicine Shoppe having Customer Appreciation Day Dec. 10

Medicine Shoppe in Montgomery City is having a Customer Appreciation Day on Sat., Dec. 10 from 9 am to 1 pm.

The following free items and services will be available:  free glucose testing, blood pressure checks, vitamins for children, and calcium for adults.  Beverages and snacks will be provided for this event, and door prizes will be awarded.  There will also be flu shots available.

ECC Offering Cookie Decorating and Soup Making Classes December 6 and 13

The holiday season usually means more time in the kitchen so East Central College is offering two cooking related continuing education classes in early Dec.

On Tues., Dec. 6, Christmas Cookie Decorating will take place at ECC’s site at Four Rivers Career Center in Washington from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This class is for young and old alike. Instructor Linda Schwoeppe will guide participants in creating cookies that are too beautiful to eat – if there is such a thing! Participants are asked to bring their own cookies. Cost is $20 per person.
