At 1 o’clock in the afternoon of Sunday, November 6, 2011, over 300 motorcycles left Montgomery City to travel to Hermann for the 10th annual George Lipscomb Memorial Toy Ride. The Ride was led by Santa and escorted by two Missouri State Highway Patrol motorcycle officers.

Once at Hermann, riders were treated to chili and hot dogs prepared by the ladies of the Hermann Eagles at the Eagles Hall.

The weather was cloudy, but not too cold and afforded the riders with a pleasant trip.

The Toy Ride Committee, made up of a group of motorcyclists from Montgomery City, Hermann, and Warrenton, wished to report the weekend’s activities, which consisted of a dance on the evening of November 5 and the ride were a success. Many toys were collected and over $8,000 were raised. The toys and money will be divided equally between the Montgomery County Youth in Need and the Hermann Area Community Christmas.

The Committee wishes to thank the area merchants, civic organizations, fraternal organizations, private citizens, law enforcement agencies, fire service agencies, and most of all the motorcyclists who together make this activity a success. The Committee is looking forward to next year’s ride.
