Following is a statement by the Montgomery County Commission:

The Montgomery County Commission is STRONGLY encouraging citizens to refrain from all burning, the discharge of fireworks or any form of either.  Due to excessive drought conditions and until such a time as significant moisture returns to the area this will remain in effect.

In addition citizens are reminded that the discharge of fireworks is prohibited inside most cities in the county and the 4th of July holiday is no exception, especially given the current drought conditions.
