OBITUARY: Hazel Lee Purvis (March 28, 1931 - March 26, 2012)

On February 5, 1950, in Montgomery County, she married Joseph Anthony Hahn. They were the parents of four children. She later married Virgil Gilbert Purvis, on March 28, 1978, in Mexico, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2009. Hazel was a homemaker and also helped on the farm. She had lived on Highway BB in Wellsville from 1978 -2008 before moving to the nursing home December 5, 2008. Hazel was a member of Vandalia Christian Church. She enjoyed tending to her flowers outside and helping on the farm. Hazel is survived by her three children, Kris Anthony Hahn, of Wellsville, Gale Lindsey Hahn and wife, Milly, of Hillsboro and Leann Marie Smith and husband, Mike, of New Hartford; seven grandchildren, Kristofer Hahn and Samantha Reese, of Wellsville, Kyle Smith, of Memphis, Tennessee, Kory Smith & fiancé Layna Atkisson, of Willow Springs, Ty Hahn and Doug Parks, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Tylor Kuda, of Hillsboro, Rodnic Kuda, of Hillsboro and Clayton and Heather Davis, of Fenton and four great-grandchildren, Benjamin Hahn, of Wellsville, Danica Parks, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Aaden Kuda, of Hillsboro and Audrey Davis, of Fenton. She was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Marie Seeley, husbands, Joseph Anthony Hahn and Virgil Gilbert Purvis and daughter, Trudie Lee Hahn. Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 30th at Fairmount Cemetery in Middletown. Rev. Randall Cone will officiate. Hazel Lee Purvis, 80, of Wellsville, passed away at 8:06 A.M., Monday, March 26, 2012 at Golden Living Center/Gamma Road Lodge in Wellsville. Mrs. Purvis was born March 28, 1931, in Audrain County. She was the daughter of Minnie Marie Seeley. Hazel was a 1949 graduate of Vandalia High School.
