Florence Evelyn McCreary, 91, of Wellsville, formerly of St. Louis, passed away at 10:30 P.M., Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M., Friday, April 27th at Mount Hope Cemetery in St. Louis.  Rev. Larry Sutton will officiate.  Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael Abbott, Thomas Abbott, Jeffery Kolling, Martin Kolling, Scott Kolling, Dale Young, Jamie Young and Randy Young.  Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Darren Clark, David Clark and Joe Clark.

Services are under the direction of the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.

Mrs. McCreary was born October 8, 1920, in Flat River, Missouri, a daughter of Edward James and Jessie Sherrill Yates.

On April 18, 1936, in Ironton, Missouri, she married James Gus Young.  They were the parents of six children.  She later married Roy Martin McCreary, on February 28, 1959, in St. Louis, Missouri.  They were the parents of a daughter.

Florence has lived in Wellsville for the past 14 years.  Prior to that, she had lived in New Florence, Lake Ozark and St. Louis.  Florence was a homemaker.

She was a member of High Hill Christian Church.

Florence enjoyed cooking, fishing and playing bingo.  She took great pride in raising roses.

Florence is survived by her six children, Christine Marie Clark, of Fredericktown, Danny James Young, of Farmington, Linda Sue Robinson and husband, Don, of Tebbetts, Ronald Charles “Ronnie” Young and wife, Carla, of New Florence, Roger Dale Young, of Jonesburg and Brenda Kathleen Kolling and husband, Mike, of Wellsville; 12 grandchildren and spouses, Cindy and Larry Sutton, of Arcadia, David Clark, of Farmington, Joe Clark, of Fredericktown, Darren and Cheryl Clark, of Farmington, Jamie and Amanda Young, of Fulton, Thomas Abbott, of Jefferson City, Michael and Mary Abbott, of Eldon, Randy Young, of St. Peters, Dale Young, of Jonesburg, Jeffery and Jesse Kolling, of Warrenton and Martin Kolling and Scott Kolling, both of Wellsville; 15 great-grandchildren, Josh Clark, Christopher Clark, Nick Clark and Paul Clark, all of Farmington, Brittanie Young and Brook Young, both of Fulton, Randi Abbott and Megan Abbott, both of Jefferson City, Kelsey Abbott and Emily Abbott, both of Eldon, Kayla Turner, of Warrenton, Bruce Young, of Jonesburg, Chloe Kolling, of Warrenton and Zachary Kolling and Sara Kolling, both of Wellsville; two great-great grandchildren, Hope Turner and Harmony Turner, both of Warrenton; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Martin McCreary; infant son, Gus Young Jr.; three grandchildren, infant grandchild, infant granddaughter Tammy Sue Clark and grandson, Jason Young; infant great-great grandchild and eight siblings, Oliver Yates, Mildred Deiuts, Irene S., Stella Ackers, Walter Yates, Roy Yates, Edward Yates and Myrtle Raines.
